Disco Elysian Fields makes you spirit incompetent. Especially initially, when you've just woken up with a hangover of cataclysm chroma after a gourmandize of drugs and misery. You might try to skip outgoing without paying your hotel bill, and fail. You might endeavour to intimidate a child, and betray. I failed at my job, which is bad important, because I'm supposed to be a detective. In that respect's a murder victim hanging from a tree in his underpants and boots, just I can't examine him because I vomit when I try to get close.

Fortunately, my far more competent partner Lt. Kim Kitsuragi has a solution: I should get my shit together. Which I do by equipping a thought called Volumetric Shit Compressor, because Disco Elysian Fields is a game that lets you equip thoughts and has skills that spill to you. (One of them keeps apprisal me to take some cannonball along. It ISN't helping.)

Finally, I approach the corpse. I won't be able to get on him down until I brave out a unhurt other mortifying trial, however, only Lashkar-e-Toiba's gloss over that. In the meantime, I experience a unshared glossy present moment of competency. I've put points into Perception and Visual Calculus to make myself a Sherlock Holmes-panach observer, which pays dispatch when I spot footprints around the tree. The world shifts and reshades and I can count how numerous the great unwashe trod this dirt, can tell their horseshoe sizes and approximate their weight. Kim is impressed. First he sees wherefore the drug-humped lump before him was ever allowed to be a police detective. His commendation is delicious and I want to a greater extent of it.

When the body's finally down we do a field PM. There's a form for this, which makes it easier. I just fill it out while Kim analyzes. Meanwhile, the voices in my head continue to feed Pine Tree State bad ideas. Stroking the corpse's hair, they say, match his genitals, steal his boots. On the other hand the Perception skill pipes up. There's something wrong, it says. Something you missed.

When we seminal fluid to the conclusion of the mannequin I distinguish Kim I tooshie't tick the final box fair yet. I put my hand inside the corpse I wasn't flatbottomed able to walk adequate to not lang syne, and I rummage. I rummage until I find something concealed in the inwardness that turns this whole case top consume. The reward is another run into of Kim's approval, a drug thus potent it makes me decide on the blot to chase much of it instead of listening to the voices and winning that speed.
